I have no regrets that my family’s financial situation did not allow me to become a doctor. The greatest heroes in life are those who sacrifice things in their life to help others grow and save lives. It was out of special interest that I applied for the job of a vaccinator and by the grace of Allah I am a vaccinator today.
After work, I like to spend time with my six children and watch TV at home. I also help my children and others in the neighbourhood with their homework.
I have supervised polio teams in several zones of Quetta and my work has always been recognized by the district authorities. I am honoured that whenever there has been a serious issue with a polio team, the authorities have chosen me to take charge of that zone.
The situation of law and order and the treacherous terrain in certain parts of Balochistan are challenges faced by vaccinators in their pursuit of missed children. However, one can always find ways to work under such physical challenges.
Seeing a paralysed child gives me deep pain. But it also furthers my resolve to continue the fight against polio
