There is no cure for polio; it causes lifetime paralysis and sometimes death due to breathing difficulty. However, polio can be prevented by immunization. A number of the polio vaccine doses is required for it to be effective.
Shazia, Adeel, Inayat and many other polio survivors across Pakistan were raised to be strong, to smile in the face of adversity, and to believe that there was nothing too difficult to try. They believe that these core values and beliefs helped prepare them for their professional and personal life experiences.
